Not So Grimm | MisteR at NZFW

The Brothers Grimm meets Alice in Wonderland is one way to describe MisteR’s new collection. The fairy-tale motifs of the Grimm classics are clearly present, yet in a very grown-up way and are re-interpreted through the prism of Carroll’s surrealist fantasy. This conjugation of Gothic children’s literature and Manga-style comic book fashion was a sight to behold, staying true to MisteR’s vision of combining the seemingly-opposite traditions of finely-tailored British apparel with the modern quirkiness of Asian street-style. ”Not So Grimm” is a very fitting name for the show as  the models walking the breadcrumb path received a standing ovation from the crowd, Fashion Week’s equivalent of throwing the witch into the oven! A very fairy-tale ending indeed…
